How to acquire or distribute germplasm ?

GERMPLASM ACQUISITION AT AfricaRice: IMPORT
Step 1:
Contact the Sender (donor) regarding details of the material requested.
The list of material should be attached to the message submitted to the donor.

Step 2:
After receiving a feedback about the availability or not of the material requested.
AfricaRice sends an accepted SMTA (Standard Material Transfer Agreement) to the donor together with the Import Permit (IP).
The IP is a document issued by the Plants quarantine office of the recipient country.

Step 3:
When all the required documents are sent, the donor proceeds with the preparation and packing of the seed requested and the shipment to AfricaRice.
In the package to receive we have:
- The list of materiel
- The physical materiel
- Phytosanitary certificate

GERMPLASM DISTRIBUTION AT AfricaRice: EXPORT

Step 1: Request for Germplasm
Submit your request to AfricaRice Scientists or straight to the Head of AfricaRice Genetic Resources Unit, and make sure you attach the list of material needed.

Step 2:
You will receive a feedback about the availability or not of the material requested.
You will be asked to sign the SMTA (Standard Material Transfer Agreement)
And send to AfricaRice the Import Permit (IP).
The IP is a document issued by the Plants quarantine office of the recipient country.

Step 3:
When all the required documents are received, AfricaRice proceed with the preparation and packing of the seed requested and the shipment to the recipient.
You will get in the package:
- the list of materiel
- the physical materiel
- Phytosanitary certificate
